David Dill served as Assistant to the Chancellor for Planning from 1984 to 1993. In that position, he coordinated the University's long-range planning and priority-setting process. The collection is chiefly correspondence of Dill as Assistant to the Chancellor for Planning, 1992-1993. There is also a file on an international conference on higher education, co-sponsored by the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and the Wirtschaftuniversitat Wien (Vienna University of Economics and Business Administration) and organized by Dill as part of the University's bicentennial celebration, 1992-1994.
